So, my 2.5 year old son figured ouw how to climb out of his crib.. I"m sure this topic came up plenty before, but cant find any threads! I moved him to a big boy bed with a rail because the tumbling out of the crib was getting dangerous. Now we are dealing with a two-pronged problem.. it takes forever for him to fall asleep, what with the popping out of his bed at bedtime, and also he is coming out in the middle of the night. Ive been trying to keep it as low-key as possible, not giving him much attnetion at all, just promptly putting him back in. As far as getting him to sleep, ive been sitting outside the door until he is asleep, just continously putting him back in as he comes out. is this the right approach? Is it "feeding into it"? What does the BW suggest for such a situation! Ugh, we were in such a good place, we had bedtime down to a 15 minute routine :0 Also, I'm not sure if I'm jumping the gun here, but I'm wondering if maybe his daytime nap is too long for him at this point? Iveo only felt this way ever since his going to sleep became an issue because of his climbig out.. its taking him so long to wind down that im wondering if perhaps hes sleeping to omuch during the day? Or is that completely not related? As of now he wakes up between 7 and 730, naps at about 1-230ish and bt is 730-8.
Any and all advice appreciated!! TY so much.
