Fattening baby foods?
« on: January 28, 2015, 21:45:39 pm »
Any suggestions for foods that will help add some weight for a little guy? He is dairy intollerant and very active. His parents asked if I had any ideas and I said I would ask you lovely people. He is only 9 months. Shouldn't most calories come from breast milk or formula at this point? The doctor told her to feed him cheese and yogurt..... But he is sensitive to dairy, not very impressed with that doctor! They already give avocado.

Thanks:)

olive oil
coconut oil
nut butters/ground nuts (not whole nuts)
eggs
oily fish (tuna, mackerel, salmon, trout, sardines, sprats) - off the top of my head I think boys are limited to 2 portions of oily fish per week. I can check if you need me to.

Yes milk is still the primary source of food although between now and 12 months the solids will increase.  Is there a reason he actually needs to gain weight though?
