Just to point out for anyone reading this thread that we strongly advocate always responding to your child - whether a crying baby or a toddler calling your name. The key is how to respond, and that can range from going in and picking up to speaking reassuringly from outside the door. But no child, of whatever age, should be left to cry or call out unattended. That is at the heart of the BW ethos of listening to and respecting your child, as I think we all agree.
