4.5mo LO having a hard time going to sleep at night
« on: August 04, 2015, 21:50:59 pm »
Hello!
I haven't been on here in ages but these boards were always so helpful when I had my first LO!! I am in search of help with my 4th LO, now. She's 4.5 mo and is an angel baby. She's on a 4 hour EASY and goes to bed without an issue for her naps. I just hold her for 30 seconds and then put her in her crib with her lovey.

But at bedtime, it's another story! Maybe I'm missing her cues or putting her down at the wrong time but she needs a lot more help going to sleep at night. I end up feeding her at her 4 hour EASY time and then again about an hour and a half after that when she just won't fall asleep!

Her wake-ups range from 6:30am-8:30am and then we just do a 4 hour EASY from there. Here is a typical day for her:

E 7am
A 7:30am
S 9am (1.5 hours)
E 11am
A 11:30
S 1pm (2 hours)
E 3pm
A 3:30
S 5pm (40 minutes)
E 7pm
*(this is where we have lots and lots of trouble)
DF 10:30pm

*I'm now trying to put her to bed about 2 hours after she's been awake since that's what we do during the day. Should I nurse her again right before bed or should her 7pm feeding be her last one? She tends to stay awake for about 3+ hours since waking from her last nap before she finally drifts off to sleep but at that point, she's obviously overtired.

I'd love any and all input!!
Thank you!!!
xoxo.

To be honest, I still cluster feed my almost 5 month old and I did the same with DS1.  DS2 gets fed at 3pm, 5:45/6pm and 7pm.  From what I recall, I kept that up with DS1 until he was on solids, simply because I don't make big babies and neither boy has ever refused any of those feeds.  You could give it a try.
