Transition to own room
« on: May 18, 2016, 19:16:11 pm »
We are still room sharing with our 7 month old. She's a great nighttime sleeper and can easily self-settle. We're about to spend the month of July in Italy, so her schedule will be disrupted soon. Wondering if we should transition her to her own room before or after our trip. Its easier on us to slowly transition her to her own room when we return from our trip, but I'm worried she'll be dealing with separation anxiety, and that it will make that transition a lot harder on her. Does anyone have any advice on this?

It's up to you really, as you say she's about to be disrupted anyway!

Would you like her in her own room when you're in Italy? If so, I'd try the move before you go to get her used to it.  If she's sharing with you when you're away, I'd wait until you're back to move her.

Yep, if she's in with you during your trip then it may make sense to keep her in with you until you return.
