14mo down to one nap

Hello,

My apologies but I can't seem to find the sample routines for 14mo.

My 14mo was struggling to go down for his mid morning nap, he was up at 8am and napping at 12 but he was finding it harder and harder, now we do
8:30 WU
15:00 nap for 3 hours
9pm BT

Is that ok? Many thanks.

If it works for you then it's fine there are no set rules.

I take it nights are good as you've not mentioned anything?x

Nights are fine yes, I was just wondering if I should insist on the morning nap because sometimes he looks quite tired, but I honestly cant remember when ds1 dropped down to 1 nap but I dont think it was this early.
Also, is 3 hours too much for a nap?

I'd say unless your getting OT wakings with only have 1 nap or UT wakings with long nap don't fix what's not broken 

When you get BT resistance or happy NW you'll know nap needs to be cut but I'd say it's fine.

DS1 dropped to 1 nap for me at 13 months with odd 2 nap day here or there.

Thank you, I just wanted to make sure I am doing it right and wasnt sure if it was too soon.

While we are as it, can I ask...I have a 3 year old (3 yrs 2 months) and he still naps, but very late as I cant put him down any earlier but gets extremely OT without, but some days he has started skipping the nap. When do they usually go 1-0? I just feel a bit stuck at the moment as as I said he is so OT without BUT the nap results on a v late BT. Thanks again.

Well my DS1 had dropped his nap before 3, so his day was pretty much 6.30 WU and 6/6.30BT for a while.

For us best thing was 20 min CN about 3.30 mark to just push on to normal bt but if that failed EBT x

I'd add to that.,my DS stopped napping around 2yr9mo-3yo. He still needs quiet time around the time he used to nap though so we encourage him to sit and relax after lunch - usually watched some TV. That downtime instead of a nap, combined with an earlier BT really helps avoid too much OT
