how long to wait between new foods

how long should i be waiting in between new foods?  typically, i will introduce a new food, feed it once per day for 2-3 days, then if i see no reaction move on to a new food.  but in tracy's book and others i am reading, it says to feed each new food for 2 weeks, then move on to a new one.  at this rate, the baby would barely be eating meats by the time she starts school!

I fed my ds twice a day for 3-4 days and then went to a new food.  i have always heard feed them a food twice a day for 3-5 days.

2 weeks isn't really practical in my opinion - you'll still be testing foods when they go to college! I think that advice comes from the days when everybody weaned at 4 months and some babies were more sensitive.
