Pablum w/formula

OK What I'd like to know is how old is a baby before you give them pablum before bed so they sleep through the night? My parents and aunts are telling me to start K on it now, but she's only 2 weeks old and I think she's too young. As far as I know your not supposed to start it till they're at least 4 months or older.

Please I would like your input on this.

thanks
Kimberly

Don't give your lo pablum until 4 months.  If you feel that you need to give her pablum, talk to a doctor first.  It all has to do with their digestive systems.

If your baby seems to be unsatisfied, try giving her an extra ounce in the bottle at feedings.  She may be going through a growth spurt.

2 weeks is way too young for pablum.

My ds went onto pablum at about 3 months at dr's request, and did fine.

I'm sure that there will be further posts with advice soon.  Also at 2 weeks, very few babies sleep through the night.

Ohohohohoh,......no.  I say she is definately too young.

The pablum in the bottle to get them to sleep through is a myth if I am not mistaken.  At 2 wks old, she is no where near ready for this.  Babies at this age need to wake to feed as often as they do.

I also read something about babies being able to sleep through when they get to 10 lbs....well, ds was 10 lbs at a week old and was no where near sleeping through.

The fact is, when she is ready to sleep longer, she'll likely do it!
