Bananas and diaper rash

Is diaper rash a sign of an allergy, or intolerance?  DD gets severe diaper rash that is raw and heated from bananas as I've just determined.  This happened once at 6 months, and just today I tried a single piece, and viola, cry-inducing diaper rash.

I could be! And I've heard of babies being allergic to bananas before. Each exposure worsens it, so try not to give it until after a year or longer. You may also want to consider if she's had any other raw fruits/veggies. Some people can't tolerate them in raw form, but are fine if they are cooked.

If it does turn out to be an allergy you may also want to be cautious/keep an eye when in contact with avacado, chestnut and latex as sometimes there are cross reactions.
