In desparation - I need sleep

My ds has just turned 4 mths, and is exclusively bf.  Up until now he has been an excellent night time sleeper last feed at 7pm, waking once in the night at around 3am, then up at about 6:30am.  Which was great. 

But things seem to have gone downhill, from one night waking to two, and up and up.  Last night he woke 20 times before midnight, then I left the room  :oops:  and went to the spare room, but after hearing him wake 6 times I went in to give dh a rest and took him into the spare room with me, where he settled. 

When he wakes after going down, you only have to go in, say shhhh and touch his arm and he is immediately asleep, I fed him at 7pm, and another feed at 10pm, he doesn't seem to be teething, I just don't know what it is.  I am just exhausted.

In the day he is a happy content little boy, taking 3/4 naps easily.

Please please please any ideas, or help would be really appreciated.

How long are his day sleeps, how does he fall asleep for naps bed time (ie does he have a paci, do you rock him, does he go down awake?)

Have there been any changes... you working, starting solids etc

What is his rough day routine like? ie time of feeds & naps

Hi there, thanks for replying.  Strangely last night, although unsettled at first, he slept through till 4am !!!!  I suppose it must have been teeth or a cold or something.  Fingers crossed he carries on.
