Hi there Adria!
I have just started solids with Red too! At first, the thing to remember is that the food is to supplement the breastmilk and not the other way round. So what i do is give a full feed and then offer the solids after. Once he is on two meals a day and has tried a variety of fruits and veges over a period of a month or so, i would then go to offering one breast then the solids and then the other breast if still hungry. Then slowly drop a couple of the feeds. So at the moment we are aiming for somoething like this:
7am - breast
11am - breast then baby rice/ vege such as sweet potato/ squash
2.30pm - breast
5.30pm - breast then baby rice/ fruit such as pears
7pm - breast
11pm - dreamfeed
Once he has been on solids a while i will drop the dreamfeed. Then the next feed i will drop is the 5.30pm one, and so i will just give him solids at that time. Next one to go (at about 9 months ish) is the 11am breast, again just giving his 'lunch' solids then. You are then left with morning evening and afternoon milk uintil about a year or so, when a lot of people drop to morning and evening. But of course you can keep on nursing during the day if that is what you want, there is nothing to say - this is what you must do - merely this is what i did with my first LO.
Best of luck - Jency will love it!!
