Shh/Pat the ONLY soother at all?
« on: December 30, 2005, 00:56:13 am »
DD is crying with her daddy downstairs right now and so he is bouncing her to calm her - what has been working since she was tiny (she is 8 weeks old).
My question is, right now, I just started the shh/pat at bedtime and when she gets cranky during the day but is it ok to use other methods to calm her when not trying to get her to sleep, such as rocking, bouncing, etc...?  Do I have to always, not matter what use the shh/pat with her so she always knows that is the 'calmer'?

HI

I would think it is fine to use other methods when she is awake to calm her...otheriwse it may confuse her.....save pat/shush for sleeptimes. Im no expert...far from it lol...this is only my opinion....
