One of the biggest challenges I think with a 6 month old is that all of a sudden they are taking more interest in the world around them - how dare you ask him to stop investigating while you do something so boring as feeding him  ;)

Here, here! That's what we have found too. My daughter NEEDS to know what's going on around her at all times. Naptimes and bedtime have to follow such a strict routine when I'm not at work but the 3 days I work, she only gets sleep when she's desperate as she's at a childminders. She'll literally fall asleep on the living room floor at the CM's but at home she knows it's bottle/dark room/her classical music cd and no chat. Luckily she's adaptable. Good luck Colenliam xx

Hi there, what you read makes sense. It is definately like she doesn't know how to get past the fact that I'm not there if she wakes albeit she went to sleep without me there in the first place.  Last night was awful - she woke at 8.30pm then DF at 9.30 and woke again at 11.10 and it was 1.40am before going back to sleep! Then woke again at 4.30, went back to sleep at 4.55 and slept til 8.05am.  I'm getting to the end of my tether with this; it seems to be getting worse not better. How was yours last night?

Hi,
surprisingly he wasn't to bad.  It was the first night he went to bed and slept without cries until his d/f at 10:15.( the past bit he had been waking at 9:30, 10:00 crying)
Then got up for a feed at aroung 3:45 (usually not till 5:00) and slept till 8am.  Funny little things they are.  sorry your night wasn't the greatest.  Have you ever tried(it worked for me a couple times when he has cranky nights)taking the shirt you have been wearing all day and laying it flat under her head.  that way he has the comfort of your smell near.  i did it a couple night when he just wouldn't sleep but seemed to settle when i picked him up and had held him for a bit. I haven't done it for a while, but it really helped a couple times.
Hope you have a better night tonight.
HUGS
