Liturally pinning down 10.5month in cot!
« on: February 22, 2006, 09:06:41 am »
My DS whose 10.5 months puts himself to sleep 80% of the time but this weeks been a bit of a nightmare where naps are concerned.  Just now for example ive had to hold down either side of his sleeping bag for 20mins whilst he screamed himself to sleep.  He hates being restricted - fair enough - but if i let him go he will sit up (cant get back down again yet) so what other choice do i have?
Does anyone else do something like this?  To be honest im tempted to use CC as 6 months of PUPD and shh/patt havnt really solved much - he wakes in the night still and im at my wits end.!

we went through a period of having to hold down olivia for naps when she started crawling and and again when shestarted standing. we placed her on her tummy and i woudl hold one hand on her shoulder / back and use the other hand to do shh/pat. it was bck breaking but using this method i could get her to lay still and could get her to sleep in anywhere from 5-20 min. better than her crawling around the cot for an hour which was the alternative
