help!! going on hols but worried about routine
« on: March 21, 2006, 13:55:11 pm »
 hi,
just wondered if anyone could give me some advice !!

in thee weeks time all of my family (60 people !) will be going to spend 4 days in a lovely hotel by the seaside. i cannot wait but i am starting to worry about what to do with my little girls routine at the moment this is her daily routine:

7am - bottle 5oz

10am - bottle 6 oz

2pm - bottle 7oz

6pm - bottle 6oz

6.45pm - bath

7.15 - 7.30 pm - bed

sleeps right through til 7am

i am worried because the evening meal is served at 6.30pm in the hotel then everyone socialisies in the bar . but if she isn't in bed and asleep by 7.45pm she gets really grouchy. i dont really want to be having my evening meal then have to go up to the hotel room with ruby and leave everyone downstairs enjoying themselves while i just sit upstairs watching a sleeping baby.!!!

i have thought about perhaps bringing the pushchair down and puting her to sleep in there then when i am ready to go upstairs i can just transfer her to her travel cot. do you think this would be ok?
i just dont want to mess up her routine because she is a textbook baby .

ruby is 13 weeks old and weighs 15pounds so she will be about 16 weeks when we go on holiday.

please please help me with some suggestions. i am really stressed !!

hi,

are you going to get a travel cot from the hotel or are you bringing your own??  either way, i would have her sleep on a (thin!) blanket or 2 that you can bring with you & lay in her cot - if it smells more like home she may not care that it's not her 'usual' crib.   ;)

try not to stress too much - try & go with the flow as best you can, so YOU can relax too.  at that age, i would try to keep to her nap times as much as possible.

at night... i don't know how you feel about the security at your hotel, but in the past i have brought a monitor with me & kept the receiver downstairs so i could hear what was happening in the room.  i have also hired a sitter to stay in the room while we go out.

hi,
thanks for your reply . i was thinking of taking her pop up travel cot so thats a good idea to try her in it before we go. have just purchased a new monitor with night vision on it so perhaps i could take that and see if the signal works.
thanks again
