7 week.. 45 min napper, please help!!!
« on: March 29, 2006, 09:02:19 am »
Hi, I too am new to this site and battling with short naps. DD is 7 weeks old and had longer naps until last week. The community nurse said she is going through a growth spurt at 6-8 weeks and more perceptive of the world around her and therefore more alert. This doesn't help me as I stay with her for 20 mins until she is asleep and then I only have 20mins until she is awake again.

How much success are you having with wake to sleep? I have tried for a couple of naps but seem to walk in too late. She stirs, opens her eyes, sees me then smiles.  Once she sees me then no amount of pat/shush is going to resetle her. At what time should I be going in and what exactly needs to be done for it to be effective. Sorry, but I seem to have more questions then answers for you. I hope you feel that you're not the only new mum in Australia battling with this - and I haven't got the excuse of surviving a cyclone!!
