Awake (Activity) time Guidelines?
« on: January 16, 2008, 19:44:49 pm »
Where can I find a link or the information as to how long infants (children) should be awake between naps?

I have four month olds and the book says they should be getting 15-18 hours of sleep per 24 hour period. I'mand I can't seem to get her back to sleep.  DS will sometimes nap 2.5 hours, sometimes just 45 minutes. He's less of the concern for me except that he seems to be unable to stay awake for the 1 hour and 40 minute marker that BW indicates. DS seems to get tired after an hour at times! DD seems to want to stay awake longer than 1 hour 40 minutes at times.

Basically, I feel like I'm always putting DS down for a nap! And I'm having a hard time getting DD to stay asleep longer than 45 minutes.

The book says they should be having three 1.5 hour naps during the day. I'm hoping/assuming it's OK to split that up?

Thanks!
Jodi
