When do I stop?
« on: April 11, 2006, 17:18:22 pm »
My son is 14 months old... he has 3 bottles of follow on formula a day. He also has breakfast lunch and tea with some snacks in between... When do I stop giving him his bottles? Should i start him on a cup? I'm so confused?  I live in Cyprus and we don't have mid wife's or any other sort of support here!

hope you can help

Welcome to the boards Louis Mum  :)

You can stop giving bottles anytime, my DS is only 6.5month and I give him mouthfuls from his sippy cup and his open cup.

Leah's mom the other moderator's Lo is 14months, so I will get her to respond to you better  ;)

My daughter was having milk up to 2 years old at morning and night. She had it in a bottle up to one as was easier for her to drink out of then a cup.I think is up to you and what your child likes. My daughter still now has alot of milk,as she loves drinking it.No how you feel,I live in spain and no family support...

Hi there! Have you introduced a sippy cup yet? Does he take water or milk from a cup at all during the day, or is he only getting fluids from the bottles? Sorry so many questions, I just need some more info.  :)

Wow! What's your secret. My daughter is 10.5 and doesn't want to drink her formula. I fear she's not going to be much of a milk drinker like me.

I put my daughter onto normally cow's milk at 9months old.Did most 1/4 milk and 3/4 water at the start so not to strong and as she got older gradually made all water. She didnt like formaula at all,was breast feed.I no they say not to give cow's milk to them but my mum and mother in law gave all there children cow's milk at 6months and we all turned out ok.My daughter still loves milk today and she is 5 this year, she still has at leat 3glasses a day.
It worked for me,so might work for you.
