I have a very similar "problem" with my 5.5 month old. He had been sleeping fairly well, swaddled, but waking every couple of hours for his pacifier. (He's been on EASY since day one). We decided it's time to get rid of the props, so we started with the swaddle. As a result he's been waking at about 3am every night and staying awake for over an hour!
We did pu/pd, but it made him really mad, so instead, I've been staying with him, holding his hands, patting his tummy, and stroking his forehead until he goes back to sleep...this can take 20 minutes...and sometimes requires starting all over up to three times.
I work 3 days/week, so I'm not really able to be as consistent with the routine as I would like (DS is in daycare during those 3 days)
Here is his schedule, give or take 30 minutes...
Wake - 6am
BF - 615am
S - 9-11am
BF and solids - 11am
S - 1-2/2:30
BF and solids - 2:30
S - 4-4:45 (this catnap varies, sometimes he does not take it at all and just powers through till bedtime
BF and solids - 5:30
Bedtime routine (bath, massage, book/s) - 7-7:20
Bottle (formula) 7:20 usually takes about 3.5 oz.
Sleep 7:30 - he goes down very easily...
Not to make this about me and my problem!
But, I'll be curious to hear if wake to sleep works for you...I'm considering doing it since his wake up is so consistent...but I'm totally freaked out that if I do, I'll be up for hours on end...Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. and, I'd like to hear if it works for you, newnymom!
