Help can't get out of baby girl room
« on: May 17, 2006, 20:44:08 pm »
I have read the Baby Whisperer and it helped me a lot.
I have done PU PD and sat next to her bed which worked perfectly fine than moved the chair  every three days closer to the door as recommended in the book. How do I actually get out of the room because this is going on for about 2 month now and I do know it's accidental parenting I just don't know how to make the transition. She is now 11 and 1/2 month and I feel stuck it takes longer and longer for  her to go to sleep. PLease could you give me any Idea how to do this ????????????????? Please help

hi,

possible that now separation anxiety has started to kick in on top of all your hard work.  since she's almost a year i'd probably try walk in/walk out along with what you're doing.  soothe her, then tell her good night & leave the room.  if (when!) she cries, immediately return & soothe her again.  repeat.... a lot... i know the first few days i had to do it with luke i was doing it close to 45 minutes at a time!   :o  but after a few days of that it got much better.
