What is a dreamfeed?
« on: May 29, 2006, 00:42:55 am »
Sorry, this is probably a question that everyone on the forum knows the answer to but I'm still learning the terminology!  What exactly is a dreamfeed?

Hiya!

The dreamfeed refers to feeding your LO (little one) some time between 10 and 11 p.m. while they're asleep.
So if LO is bottle fed, you would enter the nursery, and tickle baby's lower lip until he/she starts to suck on the bottle. Most times LO will just do this while asleep. Same thing if you BF (breast feed), but you'd have to lift LO out of crib. Sometimes LOs wake up during this process, but only for a few seconds.

In general a Dream Feed is the last feed that LO will get in the day until official morning wake up time, and it's done while they're asleep.

HTH (hope that helps)
Nay.

If you have either BW book, you can look up dreamfeed and Tracey explains it in much better (clearer?) terms.

Thanks, I'm trying to figure out how to get my DD on the bottle and someone suggested try the dreamfeed.  I will give it a go!
