6 wk old only takes 45 minute nap
« on: June 03, 2006, 20:27:20 pm »
My 6 week old started the EASY program last week.  He is mostly a textbook baby and will go to sleep on his own very easily.  He is currently on a 2.5 to 3 hour schedule, but the majority of the time he wakes up after only 45 minutes.  I've tried the shh-pat and he gets very upset and does not calm down for 30 minutes.  By then it is almost time to eat.  He currently will eat and be awake from 45 minutes to an hour.  When he only sleeps 45 minutes, he is usually only at 1.5 to 2 hours between feedings.  He is great at night.  Any  help would be great.

Hi,

The only advice I can offer is to try the wake-to-sleep method. I'm not a pu-pd fan, and the other one worked for me. In the sleep forum, naps, there is a very useful thread with good tips. I used it and it worked for us.

Good luck!
