EASY out of order
« on: June 14, 2006, 14:28:16 pm »
I know that I went out of order, but I wanted to see what would happen when I fed my 11 week old son and then put him to sleep for a nap......he slept for 1.5 hours when he usually sleeps for 20-30 minutes on EASY.  Obviously I don't want him to rely on a bottle before his nap but it's so tempting when he sleeps that long.  What do I do?  I've done the sh/pat, pu/pd, etc, etc, etc,.  I thought I just had a child that didn't need a lot of sleep.  Now I know he has the ability to nap....but after a bottle.  Any suggestions?

I've wondered about this too ...

My 11 week old daughter will drift off when breast feeding sometimes and cuddle up on me afterwards like she just wants to go to sleep.  I always pick her up and get on with things (change diaper - wakes her back up), however, I've wondered if maybe its more natural for her to eat and then sleep.

Are they all like this?  Would most eat themselves into slumber if given the choice?

I hear ALL my friends and family say they gave their little ones a bottle before bed and they think I'm doing it backwards ..

My Mum looked at me as if I had horns when I said I didn't feed DD before going to sleep.

My lo has turned easy on it's head since the 45 min nap demon came to visit and I was telling Mum I can't wait to get her back into her usual routine. She just stared at me and said "they need a full tummy to sleep!" So I told her that I didn't want DD to rely on the bottle to fall asleep ,  What will I use when she no longer takes a bottl?  I did this with DS and learned my lesson.  She did not get it at all!!
