Advice on 7 month feeding times
« on: June 21, 2006, 00:18:58 am »
Hi

A few weeks ago, i managed to drop DD's DF and then she got sick and we reintroduced it as she wasnt taking much during the day and night wakings started. I am wondering though as our routine now looks like this

7am bottle (200mls)
8am Brekkie (weetbix and fruit)
11am snack (yoghurt and fruit)
12 lunch (protein and veggies)
1.30 bottle (200mls)
4.45 dinner (protein and veggies)
6.30 bottle (240mls)
10.30 DF (200mls)

It now appears since dropping the 11 am bottle as she was only taking 100mls from the 11 am and 3 pm bottles that i should combine them which i did but now think i will be stuck longer with the DF as she is still taking 200mls.

To cut a long story short should i reintroduce this daytime bottle and begin to reduce the DF or leave it as is a start graduallyt reducing the DF so that in the next month or so she will up her daily intake of solids and milk during the day???

Just my 2 cents, from looking at your routine I would go back go 4 bottles a day thus reducing the df as they are usually dropped by this age. If you can, can you add extra formula in at her meals too? I add a lot of formula into her breakfast cereal and some at dinner too. I would tweak the routine slightly to elminate the df like this.
7am bottle (200mls)
8am Brekkie (weetbix and fruit)
11am or 11:30 bottle (200mls) if she doesn't take it all offer the rest at her meal
12 or 12:30 lunch (protein and veggies)+rest of formula if doesn't take it
1:30 snack
3:30 bottle(200mls)
4:45 dinner
6.30 bottle (240mls)
bed
It might work for you, I hope I have helped a little  ;) Sarah

I just posted the exact same question and got some routine feedback.  Here's the link
