funky looking nipples a month after weaning

I'm not sure if this is weaning or pregnancy related, but I thought I'd ask you ladies first.  Since we weaned a month ago, I have been getting this dry, chapped looking skin on my nipples.  It's darker than usual, but that's just pigmentation from the pregnancy, I assume.  What is this?  Is it that my breasts are adjusting to not having a regular exfoliating treatment and are over-producing skin?  Has anyone else had this?

Can't say that I experienced this.  Wonder what it is.

The over-production of skin comment is interesting. During pregnancy I had something which the midwife called 'skin tags'. One on my nipples but also other places - like extra little 'nubbins' of skin. I think all sorts of bizarre skin things are within the normal range of pregnancy:



Do you ever that thing where if you start to look at a word/ use it a lot, it starts to look strange?! I'm having it with 'skin'!!

Yeah, could just be I'm making too much skin from the pregnancy-- I'll ask the midwife about it at my next visit.
