Andrew was about 14 months or so.  He had been doing 2 naps but when I went back to work (around 13 months) the home day care lady asked about moving to 1 nap (with more kids it was just easier to have a blocked off quiet time for all kids at a similar time).  She and I worked together to push the morning nap back a little further each day or so.

In the middle of transitioning right now at 10 months.  DS has always been a short napper, so I'm sad to see him go down to 1 45min nap  :'( :'( Now I really get nothing done.  What time are your naps?  DS has been going down at about noon, wakes at 7 and goes to bed at 7 (sleeps all night since 4 months, the only way I kept my sanity with 30 min naps.)

Dd has also been a short napper. She sleeps at 7 and wakes up at 7 too. Great night sleeper since 4 months too.  ;D
At this moment she is napping at 11 am, but she is napping only 45 min to an hour and then 30 min in the afternoon if we are in the car. So again not much time for me specially now that I am pregnant.

She is going to school as I am going back to work, but there they do not nap as they get out at 1 pm. So they get them used to nap when they get out of school. I was worried that she was too young to only have one nap until 1 pm.
My problem at this moment is that I do not know how to entertain her from 7 am until noon!!!! She is spirited and all she wants to do is run all over the house and gets bored easily every 5 minutes.
So maybe sheŽll get used to sleep from 1 pm until 2:30, she has never ever slept more than 1.5 hours, sometimes 2 when she is sick and that is a miracle.
Thanks and I will still appreciate your answers.   ;D

my angel/textbook dd1 did not switch until about 16-17 mo but dd2 is spirited and switched at 10.5 - 11mo. when she switched we had her napping at 12:30 at the beginning and then moved quickly to 1pm. she is on the move until i force her to stop and nap and then she sleeps an avberage of 2-3hrs (more if ill). before the switch she had never had a nap longer than 2ish hours. i was in shock the first time she did a 3hr nap and now i have come to expect them.  if you do the switch for the school see if they will offer her a snack around 10/10:30 to recharge her energy levels - this helped us through the first month or so.

Must be a spirited baby thing to transition at around 10 mo.  DS is spirited and I am also wondering what to do with him until noon.  We go for a walk first thing in the morning before it gets hot, but then the rest of the day we stay mostly indoors.  DH is lanscaping the yard right now so we have no grass.  I should pack him up and go to the park, but we live far out of town and it seems like a huge hassle, but I guess I could do it a couple days a week.
I am also returning to work in Sept, but haven't found a daycare/sitter yet.  That's a whole other issue  :-\ :-\ :-\
