Chances are she is fine and just growing, but the Mommy gut is most often right - if you feel something isn't quite right, please call your MD and ask them about it as soon as possible.

Are you afraid she isn't eating enough?   Or are you afraid she will start waking alot at night cause she is sleeping alot during the day?

I think you are doing the right thing waking for her feeds - is she eating well?  Is she having alot of wet diapers?  Have you tried engaging her with a rattle or something of the like to stimulate her during A time?

If you are worried about her switching her night for day and being awake all night - if so I would try to stimulate her more at awake times and try to get her to be awake for the full A time - including her feed.  Try keeping her in well lite areas while she is awake.

You know I remember when Owen was 8 weeks, this happened with us too.  It seemed like suddenly he was asleep more then he was awake.  I actually called the pedi about it and they told me it was most likely a growth spurt or he was getting ready to have a growth spurt.  The next week, he stopped sleeping so much.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Zoey

thanks ladies, so 2 hour sleep is okay, 1 hour up and 2 hour sleep equal 3 hours, i am not worried about her, just worried about the routine

that was yesterday, today is different, so confussing, last night she woke twice and i fed her, i should have tried to resettle her as the first feed was less than 3 hours since df, and for her first nap this morning she woke at 40/50 minutes, i can calm her, she is laying quietly in the cot, if you are still around how does this affect her activity time, as i see it when she is due for a feed she will already have been awake over an hour, so do i fed her and put her straight down after nappy change, gee so hard to work out what to do, tough as i am potty training dd1 as well

I am having a hard tiem following but I will try to answer!

her first nap was only 45 mins - if she is quietly laying there, leave her be - even if she isn't asleep the down time is relaxing for her if nothing else.  Quiet alone time is good for them ;)  As far as her next A time, I would feed 15 mins earlier, change her and start the wind down all to avoid total overtiredness.

Remember my post about the growth spurt coming lol - she may truly be hungry at those night wakings - try to Cluster and DF if you can.

Does this help?  Let me know, Im around all night.
