Oh, I just read your 2nd post. I thought the awake times were too short, but we are following the schedule exactly. Should we just skip straight to the 4hour goal time w/o doing all 15 days? Or continue what we are doing and just let him sleep for 45 mins?
These were my answers to your other post.
We are on day 6 of the transition from 3-4 easy. Do you have that schedule?
How old is your baby? 5months
What methods have you tried, how did you try it, did you try wake to sleep? We tried wake to sleep, but I just ended up doing pu/pd longer. Maybe I didn't do it right. I just went in at 30 mins and repositioned him and shushed him and patted him. Maybe too much. What do you suggest?
How does he act on a 45 min nap, is he happy a full awake time? We don't take him out of the crib until the allotted time is over. He wakes up crying after 45 mins sometimes, but other times, he is happy...but a few mins later he will rub his eyes again. After the allotted time for the nap, we take him out and I feed him. After that, he is very happy and plays until I force him to go down again
What is your routine? Day 6 of the transition. We are following it by the book even though the book is a little out of whack. We've tried to figure it out.
Do you use any props? That is one of my questions. I'm not sure. Is white noise and putting my hand on him for 45 mins a prop? If not, then no. I used to fed him to sleep and sometimes we used the bouncy chair, but we don't do that anymore since we stared this routine.
What is your wind down? I remove him from whatever play we are having and walk him around and quietly sing to him, maybe read a story and sing some more. We do go in his room where it is darker.
How does your baby go to sleep? We let him mantra cry for a few mins and then when his eyes are closed, we put him on his side and then shush him to sleep.
I hope that is enough infomation. Thanks for your help.
