My DS doesn't really cuddle either. At 8 months he faught it, pushed me away, it is so sad... I know how you feel. He started doing it (not real cuddling but stopping to resist my cuddle and just relaxing) when I started the wind down routine properly. I put him over my shoulder (like the burping position) when he was really tired and made the bedroom dark. Then I carried him around back and forward and he started the wee falling asleep singsong. As soon as he gets really tired he "dives" for his cot though showing me that that is where he wants to go for his sleep. Good luck!

Both my two don't have a wind down routine - I literally change dd's nappy, close the curtains, rock her for 2 secs and then she's leaning into bed and pushing away from me.

I recall around 12mths my ds sought me out for cuddles and would wrap his arms around me - it was lovely - he had not been much of a cuddler prior to that was too busy to be sitting still on me when awake. DD has been a cuddler all the way though, but not at bedtime unless she's in the mood.

Just try and get all your cuddles in during the rest of the activity time and just realise that for *you* showing love is through cuddles, your lo probably has another way of responding - once you figure that out or really recongnise it for what it is, then cherish that as being your lo's unique way and try not to mourn the lack of cuddles since thosee are your expectations. It will happen, and my ds wants cuddling a LOT these days.

Here're lot of {{{hugs}}}.
