Wakes 1 hour into sleep
« on: August 27, 2006, 01:28:04 am »
I have a almost 4 month old DD. She is a angel/textbook baby, except for night time. She is on a 4 hour easy. Usually waking at 7am and going to bed between 7 and 7:30pm. The problem is that she aways wakes up 1 hour into her sleep. She is then a real monster to try to get back to sleep. What should I do?

I will leave out the A times for simplicity

E: 7
S: 9-11
E: 11
S: 1-3
E: 3
S: 5-6
E: 6
S: 7-7:30

This is idealized. The routine actually varies about 1/2 hour either way depending on the day.
Thanks

Holly

My 5.5month dd has times when she'll wake 30-40min after bedtime a few nights in a row.  We used pat/sh and controlled comforting to get her back to sleep.  It has never lasted more than a week and I can't remember when she last did it...  How long has it been happening for?

How does she handle the 2 hr A time?  That is alot for a 4 month old... I would aim for 1.5 hrs A time.  She may be overtired by the time bedtime rolls around, which can cause her to wake up an hour into sleep and then have a hard time getting back to sleep.

She does quite well with her two hour A time. Some times it is not two hours on the dot, it can range from 1:45-2 hours. I watch for her sleepy ques.

As to Caf_uk's question. She has gotten worse this past week. This is a recurring problem that we have battled, but this last week has been worse. I also think she has been going through a growth spurt this last week. She has been eating like a horse.
