Hi Stacy-

I'm new to the board and desperately seeking help!  I have been reading your posts to others and I have been using your advice as well -Thank goodness!

I have a few questions in my post below - I'm frustrated and feeling defeated.. I dont know if I'm doing this right, if its working, if i'm making it worse..

I have been trying the shh/pat and at night (the last two nights) he has been good with it.. (our night time routine is usually bath -although sometimes we miss it- jammies, quiet time music, rock in the glider, nurse, swaddle and then bed.. (he is swaddled in the miracle blanket since 3 weeks old -but he has been searching for his thumb although he can't quite get it yet) - the problem is at naps he wants NO part of shh/pat -- or is he ovetired by then? (this afternoon daytime nap we started a calm down this afternoon for the first time - quiet time was rocking to quiet time music and layed him down and he was out - but only for 40 minutes.) maybe implementing calming down will help??

I also reposted at my wits end -- i tried the W2S and it was a nightmare..

any help or suggestions would be really really really apprecaited... (also, i am starting work tomorrow as a nanny and will have a 2 year old with me as well - i will have the pack n' play at work and there is one in our room but he is in the bassinet -- should he be sleeping in the pack n' play at home too? (we've tried but he HATED it) ahhhhhhhhhhhhh -- sorry for all the questions... im just at my wits end... :'(

-desperate for nap help!  :-\

I'm not Stacy, but I think it would help if you posted your daily routine, age of your little one, etc.

Good luck!

thank you!

today our day was: (confusing i know!)

wake at 5:45am - nurse - back to sleep until 6am
6am-6:50 - change/take reflux meds/play on gym mat until sleep cues -heavy eyes, yawns etc.
layed down and fell asleep on his own 7:05-8:00am
up and played until (what i thought was sleep cues -) and tried to lay him down for 30 minutes  - he was SCREAMING bloody murder and finally fell asleep 9:30-10:30am
woke at 10:30am nursed for 5 minutes - barely for him
played until 11 - had to go out for a bit -
fell asleep in the car at 12:00- brought him in and put him in the bassinet at 12:05; at 12:35 I tried the W2S and it was a nightmare! 5 minutes after what i thought was 'reset' sleep he woke up screaming -
played from 1:00pm until 2:00pm - nursed at 2:30
went into his room and started to calm down - rocked listening to music for the first time - calmed down, almost eyes shut - went into our bedroom and layed him down in the bassinet and he was out.
slept 3:00-3:35pm
went out to a meeting - slept 4:45-5:40 (in my arms and then in the car)
ate at 5:50pm
played until 630 - came home, got jammies on (missed our bath) -took reflux meds, rocked in the glider listening to quiet time cd- nursed - swaddled and layed down for bed at 735- was asleep by 750 -- shh/pat worked here.. we just changed his bedtime from 830-9 to 730-8pm..

i know that sounds way confusing! but that was our day!
