I reread my posts from yesterday and i sound like a ramble idiot!! haha .. so let me try this...

I'm still trying to figure out E.A.S.Y. for our little guy...

here is what napping was today.. up at 6am - napped in the car on the way to work 7-7:40am -then in the bouncey chair 8:30-8:50am

10:30- calm down - 'ni-night jack, mommy and daddy love you - holding him upright and patting his bottom.
10:40 asleep until 11:05 - couldn't go back to sleep

12:30 calm down
12:40 asleep until 1:14

2:50 calm down
3:00 asleep until 3:00

5:20 calm down
5:30 asleep until 6:30 - (woke up screaming from a bad dream i think? was fussy fussy until he bedtime)

7:10 -baby massage, reflux meds, cozy blanket and nursing in his room while sleepytime cd
7:30 swaddled and into the bassinet -- put his paci in, kissed him goodnight, and said 'ni-night jack' a few times..
i left the room and he was dozing - he's been asleep since (its now 8:15pm)

Since he seems to be waking every 30 minutes just about exactly -- how do you do the wake to sleep technique?  when he wakes at that 30 minute mark he is TOO awake to go back to sleep - but as you may know from experiences, he is exhausted and needs more sleep... (he was not swaddled today for naps)

any help would be great -- at least he slept 30 minutes in a pack 'n play he's never been in before - and not on mom!! but the poor munchkin NEEDS more sleep...

thanks so much...

Hi there,

I'm really new to this message board and I seem to have exactly the same problem as you do... the 30 minutes for us seems to be the problem and it happens without fail for every nap...

I have an 11 week old DD and she hasn't had a nap longer than 30 minutes since 2  weeks  ago - in her crib that is....and that was the ONLY one she's ever had in her crib for that long. She is fine when we go out for a walk in the afternoons and then she'll nap for 2- 3 hours but I know that this is not good and I want her to develop good napping habits....

She is oK at night.... She's been going to sleep around 8:00-8:30 and then up at 3:30 for a feed, and then down again until 8:30 or so...... .  This schedule is sometimes changed up for 2 feeds at night, one at 2:30 and then another at 5:30.... she seems to keep going in between these 2 schedules... a few days with one schedule, and then a few days with the other....

I'm getting really frustrated trying to get her to nap during the day... She goes down fairly easily, but then after half an hour, wakes up, then I keep trying to get her down but each time she doses off with sh/pat, she only stays down for a few minutes at a time after the initial 30 minute nap....when she wakes up each time, she has a BIG cry.....

I would love some insight on this problem as well!!! I'm so frustrated!!!!

Hello to you both, I hope we can help :). I've included some links which may help you. I'd advise you to have a thorough read of our FAQs section, but these are the links you definitely need.

I think you need to take particular notice of the link re 'jolts' but I have also included the wake-to-sleep info for your information really, so you know what it is and how it is used.

I'm sure you'll have questions about it, so pop back on and and we'll do our best :)
