My DS will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and is doing fairly well on a 3 hour EASY(can go 4 hours between feeds no problem, but can't keep the poor thing awake long enough
). We wake him at 7:00 for feed and he is generally more than happy to catch his first morning nap from 8:00 to 10:00. In 2 weeks, he'll be starting daycare which I'm not too happy about, but that's another story
I'm wondering what is the best way to approach this as he will be interrupted in the nap for the trip to daycare about 8:30. Until just last week, he cried inconsolably every time we put him in the car seat, he's doing some better now but I know that he will not be happy getting rousted from his comfy bed to get in the seat. I swore from the start that I didn't want him sleeping anywhere but in his bed and have pretty much accomplished that but am now wondering if it wouldn't have been easier if I tried to get him used to sleeping different places! Should I try to putting him in his car seat for that nap and get him used to sleeping in the car seat or is that going to undo everything we've worked on regarding his sleeping in his bed in the first place? Should I let him sleep in his bed but just move him to car seat? I'm just worried that he will be all keyed up at daycare for that next period of time before his feed, and that everything else for the day will just fall apart from there. It's really not possible for us to change the timing of his routine due to hubby and my schedule. Any input would be greatly appreciated, I know there is no magic answer and that this issue won't be an issue once he's able to stay awake longer, but I sure want him to be as happy as possible until then.
Thanks!!!
