how do you do it?

I've noticed that on the days that I bring DS to preschool (and pickup), DD does not nap well at all.  Around the time we leave to drop him off is her normal nap time so she falls asleep, but she doesn't nap well in her car seat.  I've tried to go grocery shopping but she is basically awake and watching me the entire time.  But she pretty much will not lap longer than maybe two 45 minute naps that day.  Which makes for a hellish night.  I guess I'm going to forego shopping and come right home and put her in her crib.  Luckily he only goes to preschool two days a week.

Just curious to see if others are going through anything similar and, if so, how you handle it.

Just lurking as I am working on this as I have babies who need to sleep whilst I am getting children from school and also would like to do playgroups but have different nap times for babies.
If I work something out then I will let you know, otherwise, I will be interested to see what others do.

I have a son who attends kindergarten each morning from 8:55-11:45. Its fortunate for me that his drop off and pick up time coincides with her waking time from her nap. Perhaps you could work it out that way?

We wake up at 6am and am on a 3 hour easy at the moment...

Really at this point I would probably go straight home and get her in the crib.  That way she will get a nap.  Before you know it her day will change again and it may work better to your advantage.  Also as she gets older she will be able to handle having a short nap sometimes.
