11 week old not eating well anymore

My 11 week old son has been on EASY since birth.  Naps have always and continue to be a challenge.  He was sleeping okay at night and getting up 2x's to feed...usually at 1-2 AM and then 4-5 AM.  For two days now he has not been feeding well during the day.  He usually took a 5oz. bottle every 3 hours.  Now I can barely get him to take 2-3 oz.  And for a week now he has been getting up at 11 PM to feed and waking up crying every couple of hours where as before, he slept through from one feeding 'til the next.  Getting up at 11PM to feed started before the not feeding well during the day episode.  He will finish 5oz. during the night feedings.  I can't figure out why he is not eating.  No fever.  Anyone experience anything like this?

Im no expert or anything but I know when my son was that age when he stopped eating well it meant ear infection (he had no fevers with them).

Althought I would think that since the 11pm feeding started before he was not feeding well Im beginning to think that your son is headed for a growth spurt (the 3 month growth spurt). How much is he taking at 11pm? Is he taking so much that its taking away from his day calories?

Are you feeding every 3 hours?  It could be that your lo is not hungry enough any more after 3 hours, and may be ready to go to 3.5 hours per feed.

What size nipple are you using?  It could also be that your lo is ready to go to the next size nipple.

I follow his cues for feeding.  Sometimes it's 3 hours and sometimes it's 4.  He'll eat 4-5 ounces at night feedings normally just like day feedings.  And now that he is not eating full 5 oz., he's not crying about it.  Just pushes the bottle out with his mouth.

It might be worth while changing to the next size teat.

I just wanted to tell you mine did the same thing with his formula and we switched he did well for a few weeks then it started again.. We switched and did it all over 4 times.. It seems my little one had been a little intolerant of something in the milk.  He does better on the soy formula.. We also got him treated for reflux which has gotten worse and worse... He started the meds today and spit most of them out so no luk today but he is eating better for the most part since we switched to soy.. Oh and the first time we relized was also probably due to thrush..
