11 weeks - nap troubles
« on: November 13, 2006, 15:47:39 pm »
hi, i'm not really sure what my main problem is. my dd is 11 weeks and she has always gone for short naps. last week i gave a few days concentrated on naps. i had tried sh-pat before and it didn't work(didn't stick at it long enough i guess) this time i let her wake if she had at least an hr/70 mins but if less i used dummy and lullaby player to get her back. i think this was going well towards the end of the week but we had to be away at a wedding over the weekend so her routine is alittle off and her naps were short again today. tried shs/pat she cried for 20 mins and it didn't work at all. my questions are:
  • is it possible she need to be awake a little longer at this stage? (her cues are difficult to read, she never seems tried till she gets really upset)
  • are there any suggestions to help her sleep that don't require her crying? (i'm such a wimp!)
  • what is the best technique for a baby this young, i know she's too young for pu/pd
  • if i leave her be will her naps lengthen?
unfortunatly we have another wedding this weekend, hope thats the end of it for awhile!
thanks,
Dee

Hello Dee, can you post your routine with your lo please? Then we can see if there's anything needs changing with her awake times, etc.
Caroline :)
