here it goes!
« on: November 21, 2006, 03:04:42 am »
Well, I just put my 11 week old to bed.  it is 7:00.  I have never put him to bed this early.  I am interested to see what he does.  I did all his night time routines and put him in bed.  I was wondering if you do shh/patt if they aren't awake to keep them sleeping or if you only do the W2S??  I think I will probably be doing one or the other in the next few days because I am changing his schedual.  I'll let you know how it goes!

well, If every night is as Easy as last night I think I will be in heaven!!!  I put him down at 7:00 and he woke up 30 minutes later.  I Shh/pat him back to sleep he woke 15 miutes later and I did the same thing.  he then slept and i 1/2 woke him for DF which took twice as long as a normal feed but I hear that is normal.  he then slept until 7:00 this morning when he woke to eat again.  I was shocked.  I thought for sure that I would be having a hardtime because he would wake at 4:00 or 4:30 but he didn't.  he was then awake for the day at 7:00 and has been right on his schedual ever since.  I think if it continues this way I will be the luckiest mom alive.  I am just hoping it continues this well.  So you can start shh/pat before they wake or do you only do that if they wake?  I hve a friend who is asking and I don't know what to tell her.

hooray! good for you and your LO! That's excellent.
Not sure what you mean bout ssh/pat, why would you use it when they are asleep? I use it for wakings and/or if having trouble going down for a nap or bedtime.
HTH
sleep sweet!
