should i put her back to sleep? short napper!
« on: December 12, 2006, 17:30:07 pm »
my 3 month ol lo has always had short morning naps (30-45 min) then USUALLY has a long nap in the afternoon, although due to a car ride  ::)  i've recently started shush/pat so she's adjusting and a little off schedule but hopefully that will change. last night she slept 7 hours - woo hoo!!

i do have one question: if your lo takes a short nap and you know he/she is still tired when she gets up, do you try to put him/her back to sleep or just go with the flow until the next S time??

i let her coo in her crib for as long as she can (hoping she'll put herself back to sleep but she never does) and end up taking her out for more A time before the next feed.  she seems pretty content, smiling, looking around and cooing. but i'm afriad she's missing out on sleep this way???

hi, ikwum, my lo's the same. what i was advised to do on another post is when she wakes up-if wont go back to sleep then they go back down after 1/12hrs(u use ur awake time here) for example
E-7AM
A
S-8.30-9
A
E-10
A
S-10.30.
It does put ur routine out a bit but it should even out as the day goes on. does this make sense?

Hi for a different perspective I used to do E A S A S E sometimes when aliera wouldnt sleep for as long as i liked  ;) 3 months we were still on 3 hour easy so it went a little something like this some days....

So if she woke at 7 eat
                        7 - 8: activity
                        8 - 8.45  ::) Sleep
                        8.45 - 9.15: Activity
                        9.15 - 10 : sleep

                        10: Eat

It wasnt always like this for us just some days!

Katie x

You can either try and resettle with Shh/Patt to extend or get up for a short while then try putting her down again until the next feed.
