is this a night waking???
« on: January 20, 2007, 19:03:00 pm »
hi all!
was wondering if 0530hr. is considered a nightwaking and if i should bf her when my dd#2(6.5mos) wakes at this time? she cannot be consoled with a ssshhpat or a paci when attempted and seems to fall back asleep when nursed(gentle removal method) and then wakes at 0730hr.(bf'ed) for the day. this is day four of our EASY attempt. i have noted this is not a mantra cry but an escalating cry .dd#2 sleeps in our room in a pack and play beside our bed. i am not ready to have her sleep in the same room(2 bedroom apt.) with my 2.5 yo dd#1 yet.

heres the dirt.....

How old is your child?  6.5 mos

What’s his/her daily routine? 4hour easy-
0530hr.-awake and bf(gentle removal)
0730hr.-plays in bed
0800hr.-bf
0900hr. solids(cereal and fruit)
1000hr.-nap(45min-1hr.)*hopefully*just used ssshhppttt today successfully but the first two      days used (gentle removal from bf)
1200hr.-bf
1400hr.-nap(1.5hr.-2hrs)
1600hr.- bf
1700hr.-solids(cereal and veggies)
1830hr.- bf
1930hr.- bf then bedtime routine
2000hr.- usually asleep
2330hr.- awake/bf(gentle removal from bf)

What’s nap routine?as above
How long are naps?as above
What's bedtime routine? Time?as above
Do you bottle or breastfed??bf
How much? or how long?
If breastfed.. one side or both?? (at each feed) one side each feed
How many wakes per night?as above... 1?
What’s your LO like when waking at night? How long is he/she up?crying.
When you go to him/her is she fussing or crying? Or is it a mantra cry?as above
What have you tried to settle??ssshptt/paci(able to put in own mouth when it's within her reach)/ gentle removal from bf
What do you do for A time and how long is it? usually 2.5-3 hours, play with sister on floor/exersaucer/ in sling for walks
Are there developmental issues such as teething or milestones?rolling, possibly teething as she is drooling excessively
Have you introduced cereal? Why, how much, and how many times a day? (for LO’s under 6 months) eating 2x a day.
Do they have a prop? If so what is it? paci and ME... :-[
Do they have a lovie? glowworm

so based on this info, should i be feeding her again at 0800hr when she wakes for the day or not feed her at 0530hr? or is alright to be feeding her both times?
please feel free to make any comments about my schedule if you see anything odd about it, as i said this is day four and we're still tweaking things out.
my main reason for starting EASY was sleeping training, she had become too dependant on the breast to fall asleep so i wanted to teach her to sleep independantly.... whole other topic, i know..lol. i am seeing some progress and i think we're all happier for it!
thanks for reading and your input,
carole :)
