started frequent wakings--help!
« on: January 26, 2007, 16:46:04 pm »
Ok, I'll try get all the questions answered here...
My daughter is 16 weeks old, basically on a 3 hour EASY starting at about 7:30, eats, nap about 9:00 for 45-60 min, eat about 10:30, nap about 11 for 1 1/2 hours, eats about 1:30, nap about 3:30 for 45 min, eats about 4:15, then 6:00, sometimes will have a cat nap around this time but not always, and bed time at about 7:30.  Bed time routine:  change, swaddle, feed if it's time or else just hold her, then lay her down with a soother and white noise machine and pat her chest and rub the bridge of her nose until she's relaxed.  We usually go back in about 1 or 2 times because she starts getting upset and give a soother back.  Then she usually sleeps till dream feed at 11, then she was waking at about 4, then not till 7:30.  I breastfeed, she eats 10-20 minutes, and one side per session.  She has one bottle a day when I'm at work of about 3 1/2 oz.

I went back to work 3 weeks ago and she goes with my hubby to his office, 2 mornings and one afternoon a week.

We bought her a jumperoo last week, so she's been figuring it out, otherwise no milestones.  Her A time is usually laying beside us and talking/kicking , interacting with us, holding a toy, or jumperoo time (about 15 minutes), or tummy time for about 5 minutes at a time.

When she wakes at night she just eats and falls back asleep as soon as I lay her down, in the past.

The problem:  the last 3 nights she's woken up about every 1 1/2 to 2 hours all night.  Sometimes she'll settle with the soother and white noise, othertimes getting more upset until I feed her.  She starts just kicking and grunting and works up to crying.  I try to settle her with the above ways first if it hasn't been 3 hours since she ate, but sometimes it won't work.  What do I do?
Thanks in advance.

Could she be having her 3 month growth spurt a bit late?

I don't know!  She doesn't like to nap much and never has, but today she was really grouchy when my hubby tried to put her to sleep.  Any other suggestions?

I'm thinking you need to post her full routine over on teh EASY board...it almost sounds to me like the lo is overtired...?? daytime naps are imperative for a good nights sleep..schedules require TONS of tweaking..it never seems to stop ;D
