What do you do when baby is sick?
« on: January 24, 2007, 01:48:09 am »
I've had a cold for a week now and of course, now DD has the sniffles.  I feel so guilty :(

What do I do about our routine?  She's not sleeping as well and I feel like she needs even more sleep now.  I'm trying to follow her cues, but I feel like our routine is in constant flux anyway.  Just when we have things going better, it all changes again or someone gets sick.

Thanks,
Maddy

Whenever my DD is sick I usually find that the day routine goes OK...  sometimes she will go for her naps a little early and may not sleep as long so I just substitute this with an early night.  Night sleep is often a major issue and I usually end up sleeping several nights in her room with her.  We have a spare bed in there and she gets a better nights sleep when we co-sleep if she is sick.  I try not to worry about the rocking and co-sleeping as I find that once she feels better she sleeps through the night again and all is well....

Sorry you LO is not well...   :-[ :-[    think about how you feel when you are sick and you need extra tenderness and nothing is better than a mothers touch  ;)
P.S...  don't feel guilty.. at least it is your germs!!   ;)
