Naps interrupted - rolls only one way
« on: January 26, 2007, 19:32:06 pm »
I have a 6.5 month old who only rolls onto his belly.  He can't figure out out to go onto his back, despite our efforts to show him.  This is really interrupting naptime in a big way.  The past few weeks his naps have gotten consistently shorter, and are now down to 30 minutes.

Any advice?  I'm getting a little desperate. (Ok, alot desperate.)

Cindy

I don't really have any advice or answers .. But I can sympathize.  My DD went through that too.  She would wake a few times in the night just to be rolled back over.   ::)  I spent days trying to teach her to roll to her back on her own and eventually she learned it.  (All on her own too - I was on the phone and she just started rolling over and over ...  :))

So, hang in there.  DS will get it eventually.    :-\

Yeah, we've been rolling him over at night sometimes too.  He doesn't mind sleeping on his belly, just hates the fact that he can't get OFF his belly.

He's been rolling onto his belly since Christmas Eve, and a few days after that rolled onto his back, several times.  So I thought we were home free.  But he hasn't rolled onto his back since.

Did your DD's naps magically lengthen again?

Well, I don't remember her naps being as affected as her nights.  So I really can't say.  She's was a 45 minute napper (on and off again) so I don't really know if the tummy thing affected naps or not.   :-\

Thanks for the encouragement.  We'll keep on practicing.
