Ok, tried it 2 weeks, now what?
« on: February 16, 2007, 19:43:01 pm »
Hi
My LO is 9.5 mo old and we have a problem with early wakings.  Recently I posted about it and was advised to switch around naps.  He usually took a long am nap and a short pm nap.  I recently switched around his naps so that I wake him after 1hr from am nap, then pm nap is 1.5-2hrs.  Also made bedtime a consistent 630.  Our goal for wakeup is 6 am.  During the 2weeks time we had some success--2 days of 530,1 of 545, 1 at 6, and 2 after 6 (630 and 645 :) !!)  have really tried to make his routine solid and here it is:

5(if he wakes I leave him fussing in bed, til he cries, then I go and pat him to try to get him to sleep, I never take him out before 545)
E 6 bf
A  and breakfast at 7
S 9, wake him at 10
E 10 bottle(with dh) and snack
A and lunch at 12 or 1230
S 145 or 2-sleeps usually 1.5-2 hrs. (sometimes have to pat him to sleep if he wakes early)
E 4 bf and snack
A and dinner at 5 or 530
 bath
E bf
S bed at 630 or 640

The last 2 days the day routine was solid, he had seemingly 'perfect' days, but woke at 5 am still.  So now I'm wondering what to do.  Today, since I've given it two weeks, decided to try something different  ::) and let him sleep 1.5 hr first nap, then 2nd nap he would only sleep 1hr15  ::) which is the same amount of daytime sleep he got yesterday anyway, so guess it didn't help.  Plus, I put him down at 650 tonight, (goal of 7, but he fell asleep bfeeding, then woke as I put him in bed, and went right back off)

Any suggestions or help will be gladly accepted... :)

thank you
Kristi
