My now 7 month old used to sleep through when I first started EASY 4 hour routine when she was 5 months.  When she turned 6 months she started waking up during the night.  She went through a growth spurt for a few days, I think, and fed twice a night, then stopped but still woke up and couldn't get herself back to sleep.
Since then she increasingly needs to be fed during the night.  She does seem hungry, although she seems to have enough food during the day, as she is bf 5 times a day and has 3 big meals of solid food, which she loves.  I was doing the dream feed at 10.30 but she started to wake up between 9 - 9.30 for that.  She then wakes up anytime between 12.30 - 1.30 and again about 3am.  She used to sleep through until 7 - 7.30 am but this is now getting earlier, 6.30am this morning.  She was on 3 naps a day but has dropped the early evening nap by herself.  Yesterday I took her for a walk in her pushchair at 5pm ish and she slept for about 40 minutes, which I thought might help her but she still woke up 3 times in the night.  She has always been a short nap - 45 mins max during the day.
Also, I used to feed her downstairs before bringing her upstairs to put her PJs on and put her to bed but she stopped taking a full feed because she was too interested in looking round the room (even though no one else there).  So now feed her in her room with light off so no distractions and she falls asleep on me after a full feed.  I then put her in her bed fast asleep.  I used to put her into bed at 7.30 but since she's dropped the last nap I brought bedtime forward to 7pm.
Here's my routine, all approximate times:
7am - bf
8am - solids
9.30 - nap
10.15 - wake
11.00 - bf
12.00 - solids
1.30 - nap
2.15 - wake
3.00 - bf
4.30 - solids
6.30 - bf
7.00 - bed
9.30 - bf.

Any advice would me much appreciated.  Thanks.

my bet would be she is overtired hence the NWs.
have you ever tried anything to extend the naps?
if she is taking short naps i would personally move bedtime even earlier.that far too long for a 7 mth old be up after a nap until bedtime.
i'll post again about ways to extend naps but i have a rather demanding 21mth old wanting me-LOL

Hi, yes I have tried extending naps with W2S  but the few times I tried it didn't work and I actually woke her right up once and couldn't get her back to sleep.  I felt so guilty I didn't try it again.  After 45 mins she is wide awake and quite happy.  If I move bedtime earlier does that mean she'll be waking up earlier in the morning?

Hi Lisa, I agree on NW being cause by short naps. I did w2s with dd2 - I would go into her room at 30mins & do something to make her move (stroke her palm or cheek or move her blanket). Just enough to make her move (but not wake) and then leave the room. It worked wonders for me so give it a go again. Even if she just takes a deep breath and moves her head from 1side to the other, thats enough for her to go into another sleep cycle.

Also I would say if she has had 2 short naps, I would try my best to offer a catnap before bedtime (4.30-5pm) because 5hrs of A time before bedtime is really too much for 7mo. My toddler is doing 5.5hrs now and has only been able to do 5hrs at 15-16 months. I would really go for another nap & once you are able to extend the naps, you can drop the catnap again.

See how you go & post back

i'd give W2S another go to see if you can extend the naps.don't feel guilty when it doesn't work or you wake her up.it happens to us all sometimes.just take a deep breath and try again next time.
if she won't take a 3rd nap then bring bedtime forward.early bedtimes do not always mean early wakes.its done to give LOs a chance to catch up on missed sleep.
the aim is to put them to bed tired not overtired.

My 8mo is much the same - still waking 3 times a night.  I don't think she is overtired - she has 2 or 3 naps totalling around 3 hours, goes to bed arond 1830 and wakes at 0600 for the day (lovely!!).  Not really sure what we should do...just trying to go with it a t the moment until i figure it out!!

I tried w2s this afternoon and she didn't wake up, just turned her head but then still woke up after 40 mins.  I took her out in her pushchair to see if she would sleep more but she was wide awake.  :(

I forgot to add aswell, she has started to take a little 'boob snooze' in the afternoon about 3.10pm for about 20-30 mins.  I don't like to wake her as I figure she needs the sleep.
