Going from sleeping bag to pillow and blanket.
« on: March 13, 2007, 08:55:53 am »
Hello,

Our daughter is now 19months. She's always slept in a sleeping bag but not used a pillow. She's recently shown more interest in blankets and pillow whilst playing around on our bed. Should now be the time where we intriduce her to a blanket and pillow? She generally sleeps well but as she moves around a lot in bed she often starts at one end of the bed, shuffles to the top and starts crying when she gets to the headboard. I then have to bring her back to the bottom again! Sometime the whole process happend 2 or 3 times!

What I'm thinking of doing is putting a pillow and blanket at the top for her to sleep on/under. Anybody think thais might help as the pillow might make her stay still???

Many thanks,
Gareth

That's just how kids sleep.  I find dd in the most bizarre positions, but luckily it doesn't seem to bother her.  We gave her a pretty flat adult-size pillow a few months ago when she was sick, but I can't say she usually sleeps on it.  In your case, however, it might keep her from butting up against the headboard.  She also has a blanket, but generally doesn't want it (started refusing to be covered around the time we took her pacifier away), so we just dress her appropriately for the weather.  When it's cold, we put her in a layer of thermal pjs, socks, and a fleecy footed blanket sleeper.  Now that we're getting into spring we are shedding layers.
