Watch those early wakings, they are a sign that your lo is getting overtired and isn't quite ready.

In my case, it's every time she sleeps through the night. If she wakes anywhere between midnight and 4am for a bottle, she'll than sleep until 6am. It's been like that for awhile now. She did sleep from 6:30pm until almost 5:30pm so i'm pretty sure she got a decent night sleep. My LO has been known in the past to sometimes only sleep 10 total hours at night. I also think my DH wakes her when he's making noises at 5am getting ready for work. We have an open style house and it's very echoe. I know it keeps me up "lol". Sometimes if I get up like at 4am to go to the bathroom or to feed the cat if the cat is crying....I'll shut her door. OUr thermostat is situated weird...so we have to keep her door open most of the time. but I will watch for the overtired queues.

Yep, I agree, that is 11 hours - Zara often does 11 hours only also.  As long as you are aware, you can keep an eye on it!

My son usually does 12 hrs straight a night, with his late afternoon nap yesterday he wouldn't go to bed at 7 pm last night, was up until 8:30 (overtired by then) then woke at 6:30 this morning which is early for him.  With his early wake I couldn't bump his nap schedule today so he's doing 2 naps today, his first nap was 45 mins & he's still sleeping from his afternoon nap, going to wake him now.

I could try just limiting his morning nap to 20 mins & see what happens from there.  His morning naps are 20-45 lately & then up for a long time until 2nd nap & then it's too late for 7 pm bedtime.

Yep I would try limiting it, keep two as long as you can...and then when you do switch, be prepared to do two at anytime you think he needs it.

I believe she napped for about 2 hours from 9am until 11am. than she napped for maybe 1/2 hour in the car. I had to take her out and bring her inside so that pretty much woke her up. She probably would of napped more if I stayed driving. That was from about 3:45 to around 4:15. actually it might of ended up being less than a 1/2 hour.

Mary, that sounds great.  Not many babies do the long AM nap, short PM nap, but it is done.  Then when they drop the short nap, the AM nap gets moved out to closer to lunch time.

hi all-

my 1 year old seems to be going through the same thing...are they all babies that can thrive on people?  i just wonder about the similar temperments and how that relates to their sleep habits...it would be interesting to see a study on that...anyway, i sympathize with the 6:00 am wake to 5-something wake...yawn!!!  hopefully just a phase until its all sorted out, right???  :)
