EASY and growth spurts?
« on: March 28, 2007, 04:03:38 am »
I'm just wondering how it works doing EASY when a young baby hits growth spurts and wants to eat constantly? Just looking ahead so I'll be prepared...

Joy, at 1 week old you can not expect your LO to follow easy...
all you can do actually is to try not to feed to sleep and that's more or less it.
enjoy your baby, learn her cues and don't worry to much.
feed her when hungry and put down for a nap when tired.
EASY usuall doesn't start working until 4/5/6 weeks.

congratulations on your new baby :)

Hi! Congrats on your LO!!!

I started EASY at 2 weeks & it was more like ESES with diaper changes in between! But I found it enormously helpful for my own peace of mind because it was some kind of structure to aim for. For the first two weeks, I fed DD on demand and was pretty much feeding her around the clock since she took so long to eat! Also, we were on 2.5 hour EASY in the begining and we had so many growth spurts (5 days, 3 weeks, etc.) that I would just feed on demand during those too. HTH!
