Just wanted to share my good news (makes a change from all my frustrations and negativity LOL :)).  My lo is nearly 7 weeks old and I started the easy plan from around the first week.  I have been consistent every day, and finally he has started to sleep on his own without any shush pat etc we are so happy. He is now in his own room, and this has been a real benefit he sleeps even longer in there from 11 pm to 5.45 most mornings.

Over the weeks I thought it would never work and actually thought about the cry it out method (although I never would).  Iv been desperate at times, very frustrated and thought of giving up.  I just wanted to say it does work, its a kind way of teaching our lo's to sleep and I am so happy I picked up the BW book that day in Waterstones, who knows how it would of turned out without this brilliant book!  Even his naps are getting better, I persisted with the swaddling, even though he did not like it at first, which helps with the jolting, (as i watched him threw a sleep one day to see why he woke, and it was his arms jolting up in the air which woke him up)  Iv also realised that when he gets overtired he has a melt down, and jolts terribly causing restless sleeps!  All I need to do know is sort my hormones out and get threw my baby blues/PND? But with my lo sleeping better, and the support from other bw mums, Im sure it will all come together over time!

Congrats Nenee - it's great when it all starts coming together.  Isn't it amazing how sleeping and naps rule the roost at home! If they are bad, everything's bad!!!

Good luck, I'm sure the hormones and PnD will also improve.

Thanks for posting your story. It's inspiring to know that it can all work out with a little perseverance. Ive also had some trouble with pnd and everything goes hand in hand. I had to get my pnd sorted out first and now I'm much calmer and confident about helping my lo learn to sleep.

Congrats!!! :)

Wow, well done. My DD is 4 months old and I have not used EASY until now as she has been poorly on and off. I have started on a 4 hr EASY and I know how you must feel, so happy its fallen into place! Oh yeah, and I got a shock, your baby is the SPITTING IMAGE of mine, it really spooked me!!!!!!

Wow thank you for your words of encouragement, it means a lot.  I do feel kinder proud of myself for sticking with the easy from day one, as I did think many times it would never work!  But it has, my lo is 3 months old today, and it is right when other mums say it will work if you are consistent, and it will get easier at 3 mths.  Iv had a brilliant day with my lo today,  I went to see my family, and I have realised how lucky I am, hes so easy going and such a happy chappy, hes always smiling, when he gets up at 7 am every morning he smiles straight away and has actually started to chuckle!  I just want to say that my lo is proof that EASY is a wonderful thing, and it DOES get easier at 3 mths, the change is unbelievable.  My family have actually said to me today they have never seen such a placid baby, hes so content!! and I turned around and said "its all down to a special person named Tracy Hogg and all her followers" without this gift I do believe it would be a different story. I still have the odd blip when i get confused with the easy plan but all I have to do is post a question and there are many other bw mums out there who are more than happy to help, the support is invaluable!

Anyone reading this post please please stick with it, Im proof it works!

best wishes   ;D

Nenee x :)
