no medication for teething before bed
« on: April 14, 2007, 07:18:05 am »

I was medicating mackenzie for bed most nights as he seemed to be teething forever, dribbling and chewing on his blankets all night but no matter what i did with his day routine i couldn't get him past 5 am most nights, some nights he slept till 6.30
anyway i was trying out all the different meds for pain, nurofen, calprofen, medised but nothing seemed to help..........
anyway i gave up the mediction completely last weekend and he has consistently slept through every night from 6.30 till almost 7am ;D so i believe something in the medication was hindering his ability to sleep ::)
just thought i would share as when i look back the nights he made it through to 6.30 were the nights i didn't medicate, can't believe i could of solved the problem sooner ;D

This happened to us too ::) ::).
i think with sasha she went into such a deep sleep when she had her meds that she just didn't need anymore sleep after 5.30am.also i think the body is then reliant on needing the meds to sleep longer IYKWIM.

Exact same thing here, which led me to do the same thing and stop giving teething meds at bedtime. If DD wakes up in the middle of the night, I give them then, but she usually doesn't.

Calpol is the only pain med we can use with Ryan as the other's aggrevate his reflux ,Calpol has a ping effect on Ryan so i will only give it if he REALLY needs it .I did the same , i would put him to bed and if he was in discomfort in the night then i would give him some calpol
