my ds is 4 mo old.  we are currently pupd training and are starting to see improvements at night, but not so much for naps.  i am trying to get him on the 4 hr easy but he does not take 2 hr naps.  he will usually wake at 1 hr , maybe 1 hr 15 min.  does w2s work for naps longer than 45 min?  if so, when should i w2s?

thanks!

hi there

maybe your routine needs tweaking a little, in terms of A times? Can you post your usual routine for us (what actually happens, not what you would like to happen!  ;))

Just wanted to add that anywhere from 1.5-2hr nap is fine not all babies will sleep the full 2hrs.

Here is the general routine.  We're currently on a 3:15 EASY, though the EASY sequence is not consistent due to short naps.

6:30 wake up, eat
8:00 nap
9:15 wake up/activity
9:45 eat, resume activity
11:00 nap
12:30 wake up, activity
1:00 eat, resume activity
2:30 nap
4:00 wake up, activity
4:30 eat, resume activity
5:45 catnap
6:15 wake up, activity
7:15 bath, eat, sleepytime ritual
7:45 sleep

He usually wakes up at 10:00 but quickly goes back to sleep w/ a little shushpat.
He wakes up at 3 and usually nurses.

Some babies are happy with 1 hour naps--does your ds seem rested when he wakes? In theory you could do w2s at any point during a nap to help extend it...figuring out the right timing might be tricky though. :)
